Tridentea virescens is found naturally over a wide area in the central and northern Karoo as well as Namibia. There is some variation in the flower structure over the range of the species.

The flower colour of Tridentea virescens varies from yellow to greenish.

According to Sanbi this widespread species occurs as sporadic small subpopulations of up to six plants. No threats are known to impact this species.
