Ledebouria coriacea is an unique species found only at one location near Aloes railway station in the vicinity of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. It is an epigeal bulb with attenuate bulb scales and dull leathery leaves. According to S. Venter the bulbs are not closely allied to other Ledebouria species.
